Accessibility & Mobility Information

Please be aware that this event takes place on campus, requiring walking and mobility. While we strive to minimize the event footprint, Celebrate UCI is spread out across the entire campus taking place in various locations inside and outside. If you need ADA assistance or accommodations, we encourage you to arrange for a wheelchair or other mobility aids in advance by contacting a rental company of your choice, if you do not have what you need. Our campus has limited aid available for specific portions of the event. Learn more below. Please note that attendees are responsible for maneuvering their own mobility devices.

UC Irvine Parking Cart Assistance

Once parked, we have an optional cart assistance that may take you from the parking facilities to an ADA compliant check in location. If you wish to use such accommodations, please proceed to your parking structure’s ADA accommodations sign or speak to a parking attendant to find your waiting area. A golf cart will be called upon to bring you to a check in location. When you are ready to return to the parking structure, a golf cart can take you back.To call for golf cart assistance back to your parked vehicle, please go to a designated information station outdoors at Celebrate UCI (indicated on a printed map which will be given at check in) and a UCI Staff member will dispatch a golf cart on your behalf. Information tables are outlined on the printed program. We do ask for your patience, as a golf cart may take up to 20 minutes to arrive at your location depending on the availability during the day. Please know the parking structure you parked at. We recommend taking a picture of the structure or writing it down.

Campus Tours

For any guests needing an accessible waiting area for their walking campus tour, please check in at the Self-Guided Tours & Information booth (location noted on printed program) with your party and the tour assistants will give your group a time to return to the booth that is equivalent to the amount of time guests are waiting in line. When your waiting period is over, return to the Self-Guided Tours booth and they will place you on the next available tour.

Our tours do not take any stairs and avoid steep inclines to provide a comfortable and safe visit for guests; however, if a guest has mobility concerns and needs a wheelchair, we have a limited amount for guests to use while on tour only. They can reach out to tourUCI@uci.edu if they anticipate needing a wheelchair for the tour at Celebrate UCI. Please keep in mind that these accommodations are limited and only available during the campus tour, not the entire duration or any other area of this event.
