Official Document Processing for Current Students

Learn more about receiving units for your UC-transferable coursework or exams.

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions posts units or clears the American History and Institutions university requirements with UC-transferable coursework taken outside of UCI or earned through AP, IB, and GCE Advanced Level exams. Official transcripts and test scores are required for credit to be granted.

Awarding Units - Next Steps

Current UCI students are required to submit the Current Student Update form to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions after transcripts or test scores have been sent through an approved vendor. Updates will not be made to your record until all official documents are received and the form is submitted.

After submitting your transcripts or test scores electronically, please fill out the Current Student Update form to notify the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Submitting Official Documents

COVID-19 Update: Official documents are required for granting transferable units and every effort should be made to submit them from one of the options listed. However, we understand not all schools may be able to electronically submit documents, so we are providing additional methods for document submission.   

  • Sending Transcripts

    Due to COVID-19 UCI will only accept official documents electronically. We will not be accepting any documents through the mail at this time. This information is subject to change as we gain more information throughout the year.

    Please find a list of vendors and methods for electronic submission below:

    * Documents sent by National Student Clearinghouse must be sent to oars-records@uci.edu.

    **Naviance transcripts are only accepted through Parchment.

    ***Kiteworks is an external vendor only used for current students attending any of the Los Angeles Community College District campuses. Please contact your LACCD campus registrar to inquire about using Kiteworks.

    If your school is unable to submit official transcripts electronically through the vendors listed above, we will temporarily accept verified electronic copies of your transcripts and other documents via email. They must be:

        • Submitted by your school administration or counselor through a school domain email address.

        • Sent to oars-records@uci.edu with this text in the subject line: ATTENTION OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS

    Note: although some academic units will accept unofficial transcripts for advising purposes, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions requires official transcripts to award credit.

    After submitting your transcript electronically, please fill out the Current Student Update form to notify the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Please allow up to 2 weeks from mailing date for receipt and up to 1 week if sent electronically.
  • AP or IB Scores

    If you passed any Advanced Placement (AP) or higher level International Baccalaureate (IB) exams you must have official results sent to UCI by the testing agency to receive credit.

    After submitting your test scores electronically, please fill out the Current Student Update form to notify the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
